Weatherby-Reynolds-Fritson, Engineering and Design (WRFED) has been a family-owned and operated engineering firm for more than 30 years. Started in 1973 by Gene Weatherby, the firm has been located in Jackson, Calif., for more than 20 years. After Gene Weatherby’s initial work in Bear Valley, developing and planning the community and its ski resort, Gene’s son Terrence joined the firm along with Grant Reynolds. Together with Gene they formed Weatherby Reynolds Consulting Engineers in 1991.

In 2003, Weatherby Reynolds Consulting Engineers added Kevin Fritson. Kevin is a licensed contractor turned engineer with a focus on design and a fresh look at alternative building solutions.

An 8-person firm, WRFED specializes in civil, structural and architectural engineering and is a member of the Mother Lode Chapter of ACEC California.

The firm’s staff includes four licensed engineers in the fields of structural and civil engineering, one EIT, one CAD specialist, one office manager and an administrative assistant. A family-oriented business, WRFED dedicate themselves to their clients, families, and employees and to their community where the firm has always been involved with several charitable organizations and schools throughout Amador and Calaveras Counties.
